Open to all Jenison 4th- 6th Graders (2026/2027 school year)

VEX IQ Details

• Learn to design, build, program, and test a robot to compete with other robots!
• Get involved with various robot-related skill challenges and competitions
• Practices are held twice a week, except during league weeks, when practices will be held once a week.
• Volunteer Parent Coached, we can't do this without your help!
• Compete in 4 league night competitions beginning in early January and ending in early February.
• Compete in a full-day tournament here at Jenison Junior High - February 6th, 2027
• Teams will be formed based on grade, the number of participants, and the number of coaches.
• Parental involvement is encouraged throughout the season. We need parents to volunteer at either two
  Jenison league nights or for half the day at our Jenison Tournament.

PARENT MEETING: September 21nd, 7 PM, Jenison Junior High Cafeteria, 8295 20th Ave.
COACHES TRAINING: Mid to Late October at the Jenison Robotics Center (1889 Baldwin St) date TBA
KICKOFF WEEK: Parent meeting either November 3 or 4, meet your team at 6 PM
PRACTICE LOCATION: Jenison Robotics Center (1889 Baldwin St)
COST: $125 with parental volunteering OR $250 if you are unable to volunteer

WE NEED COACHES: We want as many students as possible to participate, but we need coaches to make that happen. If we don't have enough parents willing to volunteer as coaches, we will use a lottery system to assign students to teams. The only way to guarantee a spot for your child is to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach. There will be an additional training session for 1st-year coaches before the start of the season. We will cover a lot of information that you will need to be a successful coach.
