Grades 4-6

The VEX IQ Challenge consists of the VEX IQ Challenge robot game and the optional STEM Research Project, and online challenges. The VEX IQ Challenge provides an opportunity for students, with the guidance of an adult mentor, to explore and solve exciting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) challenges. Students develop valuable knowledge, skills, and experience a tremendous sense of accomplishment by building and programming a robot to solve the VEX IQ Challenge.

Vex IQ League Schedule

2023 Fall VEX IQ League
Open to all Jenison Elementary Students who are in grades 4-6

Practices start 2 nights per week, beginning the week of September 18th, 6-8 PM
Students will compete in 4 league night competitions beginning in October and ending in November.
Jenison IQ Tournament will be a full day Saturday at Jenison Junior High - in Dec. 2023

2024-2025 VEX IQ Challenge
"Rapid Relay"

VEX IQ Competition "Full Volume" is played on a 6’ x 8’ rectangular field configured as seen above. Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points.

Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.
